Scientists use fossils to learn about the past. See how they do it with this fun project!
What you’ll need:
An object to create the fossil withPlasticine2 paper cupsplaster of pariswater
How to do it:
Take a ball of plasticine and flatten it so the top is smooth.Place the plasticine into one of the paper cups with the smooth side facing up.Press your chosen object into the plasticine so it is partially buried.Carefully remove the object from the plasticine. An impression should be left behind.Pour half a cup of the paster into the second paper cup and mix it with a quarter cup of water. Stir the mixture, and then leave it for 2 minutes. After 2 minutes, pour the thick mixture into the first cup with plasticine. Leave the mixture in until the plaster has dried (about 24 hours). When the plaster has dried, tear away the sides of the paper cup and remove the plaster and plasticine. You should have an awesome and detailed fossil of your object!..
